Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

This October, two of our Service Experts centers will be making a statement with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to raise money for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, General Manager of Fras-Air, and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the number of cases is actually declining each year, that still represents a large number of families who are grappling with this disease, and therefore we have an urgent need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s sentiments. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the number one type of cancer in our state – for men and women.”
