The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city.
“Last September, I had the ability to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to use the food they receive to create nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume help along with budgeting and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.
“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even took time to show us their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
